In the last phase, voting in 138 UPs will be held on February 8

Violence is raging across the country surrounding the Union Parishad elections. Incidents of arson and vandalism of houses are also happening in the constituency. Meanwhile, in the last phase, voting will be held in 138 Union Parishads of the country on February 8. On Wednesday night, the Election Commission announced the schedule of this phase of the election through a notification.

According to the schedule, candidates for the posts of chairman, councilor and reserved women councilor can submit nomination papers to the returning officer till January 12. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers after selection on January 15 is January 22. Voting will take place on February 8.   

In the beginning, there was not much discussion about the UP vote except in the constituencies concerned, but when the last two rounds of voting escalated, there were many incidents of loss of life.

Then the election discussion became active. This is the last election before the Nurul Huda Commission expires in mid-February.

Elections were scheduled to start from April 11 with the UP voting schedule in March this year. But the coronavirus epidemic has become more and more contagious.

Later, in the first phase, voting was held on 21 June 204 UP and on 20 September 180 UP. In the second phase, 748 UP elections were held on November 11, and in the third phase, 1004 elections were held on November 26, and in the fourth phase, 738 votes were cast in the fourth phase. In the fifth phase, voting will be held on January 5 in 707 UP. Voting will be held on January 31 in the sixth phase and on February 8 in the last phase.
