Emmanuel Jackson Bernadin II (was born May 20, 1987), known professionally as Manuvelli, is one of the best first-generation Haitian-American rappers, singers, songwriters, and producers. He was born in Miami, Florida, and partially raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Initially, Manuvelli gained recognition as a rapper following his debut EP, The Manu Script, in late 2020. Manuvelli was born to Jackson Bernadin (1963) and Elene Jeanty (1959); they originate from Cap-Haitian, a port city on the north coast of Haiti; in the early 80s, Manu's parents emigrated to America. They would eventually meet and give birth to two children, one girl and one boy, who would later in his life grow to rename himself as Manuvelli.
Before starting his music career, Manuvelli served his country as an enlisted member in the US Navy and US Army from July 2007- July 2013. He worked as United States Navy, Aviation Electronics Technician & Supervisor July 2007- July 2013. He also worked as a Brigade Tactical Operations Controller & Camp Supervisor for the United States Army while deployed in Camp Bucca, Iraq Dec. 2008 – April 2010. His tours of duty included embedded deployments in Iraq (Operations Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn) and Afghanistan (Operations Enduring Freedom. Manuvelli supervised and approved the investigations of terrorist cases, offering guidance and expertise to investigators and ensuring that procedures followed US wartime laws and regulations. Manuvelli directly planned and supervised daily, weekly, and monthly mission-essential activities for members of the military police force while serving as Lead Brigade Tactical Operating Center Controller.
Manuvelli's last position of employment was as a SAP Applications Developer, Software Engineer for Lockheed Martin. As a Software Engineer, Manuvelli supported the F-35 Lightning II program.

In May 2015, Manuvelli was invited as an honorary speaker at TEDx Herndon, Va by Joseph Plummer, Independent TEDx Organizer & CEO of Three Birds Foundation, to give his speech "Why I Believe That America Should Bring Back the Draft." In May of 2016, Manu was featured on TEDx Talks (TEDX Herndon, Va.) platform with his speech titled: "Why I Believe America Should Bring Back the Draft"
